Fort Desolation Fest Earns Over $5,000 in Ticket Sales

A Utah music festival looks to improve attendance with two burst campaigns.

Goal

Fort Desolation Fest located in Torrey, Utah sought to increase ticket and camping package sales for the 2024 event.

Targeting

Multiple targeting strategies were employed to create an audience likely to convert and purchase tickets to the event:

  • Ticket purchasers in 2022, 2023, and 2024 prior to campaign launch
  • Visitors to campgrounds in CO and UT in the previous year
  • Households with an interest in music living in AZ, CO, ID, NV, and UT
  • Popular music venues in Boise, ID Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, UT
  • Active media consumers of artists for both the 2023 and 2024 festival lineups, including similar artists in the country music genre

Execution

CTV, display, and video advertising was served via the OnSpot Integrated DSP for two two-week bursts in the months leading up to the event date in June 2024.

Results

  • Over a 1% CTR for display advertising, and over 3% CTR for video advertising
  • $5,500 in ticket and camping packages sold during the campaign run

  • Ticket sales were matched directly to fans that received ad impressions through our Campaign Impact Report resulting in a CPA of $78.95

Conclusion

Using multiple tactics to create a target audience consisting of fans and active listeners of artists playing at the Fort Desolation Fest resulted in an increase in ticket and camping package revenue in a short period of time.
